Education, Activities, and Societies:
Helen received her MBA from Kobe University in Japan and her Bachelor's degree in Finance from National Cheng Chi University in Taiwan. Besides her native tongue, Mandarin, Helen also speaks fluent English and Japanese. She was the previous Chairman of Kobe University Alumni Net in Taiwan and the Co-Chairman of Greater China Business Committee at the American Chamber of Commerce in Taipei, as well as the HR Committee Core Team of SSIS in Japan. Currently she is also one of the key members in GSA (Global Semiconductor Alliance), SEMI (Semiconductor Equipment Materials International), and BCCT (British Chamber of Commerce in Taipei).
Prior to Heidrick, Helen was Vice President of Business Development at Atos Origin Taiwan. In this capacity, she led sales and marketing initiatives for management consulting, system integration and managed operations services. She was awarded Atos Origin’s inaugural BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) tender from the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT). Upon Atos Origin’s acquisition of SchlumbergerSema, Helen was assigned to lead business development in credit card solutions for the integrated team.
Helen began her career in Product Marketing at Philips Electronics where she focused on monitors, devices and peripherals throughout Asia Pacific. After nine years in various important roles in Philips, she transferred her career from marketing to sales & business development management - she joined Oracle, Taiwan in 1998. Helen gained in depth knowledge of the IT industry and developed a broad network and long-term relationships with many ERP, CRM and e-Business clients including Far Eastern Group, Hei Song, Schedmit Group, Pioneer, NEC, Toshiba, Fujitsu, Epson, Matsushita and others. She also spent two years with an internet start-up.
Helen has experience in high-tech, manufacturing, bio-tech, pharma, medical, FSI, consumer, retail, TLH (Travel/Leisure/Hospitality), ICT, media, starts-up, cultural innovation, professional services as well as hardware, software, and semiconductors. Helen Chou is the President & CEO with CHARISMA.
Prior to starting up CHARISMA, Helen was the Principal Consultant & Business Leader at HRnetOne. Prior to that she was the Principal at Heidrick & Struggles based in Taiwan. She specializes in senior-level search assignments and leadership & management consulting. She has conducted CEO, COO, CFO, CIO, CHRO, CLO, CMO, Country Manager, Regional President and Senior Officer Searches for global multinational corporations, such as Google, TSMC, Sybase/SAP, Cisco, HP, JDSU, TomTom, SEMI, LSI, ADB, HMI, HTC, MiTAC, GETAC, UPC Technology, MediaTek, Etron, ASE Group, AUO, Heraeus, Kionix, and the companies of various industry sectors, like. Pharma, FSI, Consumer, Retail, TLH, Industrial, Telecom, and etc.
